The AC franchise has been a yearly release for some time now, but rumors circulating around states that no AC will be released this year. According to a developer who is working on the next Assassin's Creed, posted on 4chan forum and said the following:
''Egypt. There won't be an AC in 2016. You may screencap this and refer to it when nothing is shown in E3 2016. You'll have to wait until 2017 for it. The reason: It will be a complete revamp of the series. The game is going for a Witcher feel, with player progression, freeform combat system. Horse is back and boats too. Its made by the Black flag team. You may leave question you want answered.''
If this rumour is anything to go by then it means Ubisoft is planning on giving the new entry in the franchise which will be release in 2017 and set in Egypt according to the developer, an overhaul to the series. The new entry will also be handled by the developers who brought us AC Black flag. As this is only a rumour we just wait and see what will happen since is an unconfirmed report.
