Super Mario Run Announced for iOS
Super Mario Creator Shigeru Miyamoto made a surprise appearance during Apples's September Press Conference to announce Nintendo's first mobile gaming Super Mario Run. The game will first launch on iOS and later on smartphones.
Super Mario Run works like most automatic running games. Mario will automatically run to the right with the player controlling Mario’s jumps. Tapping the screen forces Mario to jump, and the longer the player holds the higher he’ll jump.
A "Toad Rally" mode will allow players to take on friends and strangers in a "ghost" challenge mode, in which players compete on the same level to gather the most coins and pull off tricky jumps to "impress Toads" and win individual challenges. We'll have to wait until later for more hard information on the game; in addition to a lack of price and release date information, Nintendo has yet to reveal how many levels or how much content we should expect in the game.
Super Mario Run is out holiday 2016 and will have a set price with no microtransactions. While we wait, the upcoming iOS 10 will include Mario stickers in the messaging app.
