New God Of War Confirmed For PS4 – Gameplay Trailer Revealed

At E3 2016, Sony and Santa Monica announced God of War for PlayStation 4, the next major installment in PlayStation exclusive God of War video game franchise. The first ever gameplay (almost 10 minutes of gameplay) was showcased at the event, however, nothing was said about the game settings, the lead protagonist, and release window.

Thankfully, God of War Director Cory Barlog during YouTube live broadcast has shared the very first details about the new God of War game for PlayStation 4. According to Barlog, with God of War for PlayStation 4, the development team is re-imaging the gameplay, however, the storyline is being continued with the Norse Mythology setting.

In God of War PS4, the lead protagonist is going to be Kratos and players will play as him from start to end. On the topic of release window for the game, Barlog stated that it is "Coming Out SOON", which means definitely 2016 is not a release window for the game.

The event in this new God of War game is set many years after God of War 3. It's a much more intimate and player-controlled experience. The game is huge but not an open-world. As mentioned above that the gameplay is getting re-imagined and so Quicktime Events will not be included the same way as they were used in the previous God of War games.
