Codemasters studio intends to optimize their famous racing game DiRT Rally, so to squeeze a full HD- resolution at 60 frames per second on the PS4 and Xbox One.
The studio confirmed this in a conversation with Videogamer, adding that this applies necessary force to work on the two versions of the game and at the same time a pull on the PS4 1080P 60fps will be a little easier to hit that target whereas the Xbox One version needs more work to get it running smoothly on 1080p 60fps.
We’re very, very close on PS4 (1080p/60fps). We’ve still got a little bit more work to do on Xbox One. But, you know, I think that’s fair to say that for everyone out there, PS4 is certainly a little bit easier to get this stuff running smoothly. That’s not to say that we’re not going to try and get as close as we can with it (on Xbox One).”
“We don’t want to just drop it across the board. I think we’re going to look at the troublemaker scenarios, like heavy snow on certain tracks or rain on Rallycross races, and we’ll do it where we need to do it. But ultimately I want to be running at 1080p/60fps wherever we can.”
“It doesn’t look like we’ve stripped it back or anything. It looks much the same as the PS4 version. I think it’s just that it’s been easier for us to get PS4 working at the performance we’ve been hoping for.”
The game is scheduled to release on April 5th on the PS4 and Xbox One.
