Zelda: Breath of the Wild Map Is 1.5 The Size of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is set to be the first Zelda open world game ever, and people out there is really curious to learn about how Nintendo managed to offer a good title in this new (at least, for them) genre. When it comes to the map, it seems like they did it pretty well, as it looks nice to see, much fun and huge to play.

We don't know the specifics of size and stuff, but thanks to the Reddit user Noob10 we can now have an idea of how much big The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild map actually is. Based on this user's speculations, the final output is 836.1 square minutes of travel, which corresponds to 5.300 acres.
This size makes Breath of the Wild 1/4 of Manhattan or, to stick to the video game business, 1.5 times the size of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is pretty popular among gamers because of its gargantuan dimensions. It's nice to see Nintendo took care of the size, and that building the game on Wii U didn't set any limitations on this topic.

Anyway, the most important thing now is that the development team was able to craft interesting things to do within this world's borders. The already mentioned Skyrim, for example, wasn't great when it came to this matter, as you actually had the impression of a giant box where nothing, nothing, ever happened if you weren't triggering any action.
